Fulmore MS teacher who made ‘insensitive statement’ won’t return

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin middle school teacher who allegedly told a student who was speaking Spanish “to go back to Mexico” won’t be returning to the school.
In a letter sent to Fulmore Middle School parents and staff on Nov. 30, Principal Lisa Bush says the teacher “made a racially insensitive statement to a student” and the district continues to “meticulously review this matter in order to make further employment decisions.”
