Freezing drizzle is causing travel problems as arctic air moves into Central Texas

AUSTIN (KXAN) — As New Year’s Eve celebration planning continues, the KXAN First Warning Weather Team is tracking an arctic air mass that has made its way through Texas. The initial front arrived last night. However, the coldest air began blowing into Central Texas early this morning, with sub-freezing temperatures settling in for New Year’s Eve celebrations Sunday night. Wind chill readings could be as cold as the teens before midnight in many areas.
Ice is already creating is
