Former Akins High student arrested, accused of making threats

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Students and staff at Austin’s Akins High School were on lockdown for several hours Thursday after a former student made threats about shooting and blowing up the school, police say.
The Austin Independent School District Police Department says around 8:45 a.m. they received information from a student that a former student got on one of their school buses and made a verbal threat. The suspect stayed on the bus all the way to Akins High School, located at 10701 S. Firs
