Following more record June heat, more optimism for a pattern change next week

AUSTIN (KXAN) — As our persistent heat wave continues, June heat records are at stake this week as we are forecasting our longest stretch of June triple-digit heat ever observed (currently 10 days), the most June triple digits on record (currently 20 days), and the hottest June on record.Today will be another day of triple digit heat with Austin likely to reach 101°. Mainly sunny skies will stretch overhead, but like yesterday, a stray shower along and east of I-35 cannot be ruled out.
