Five injured in 8-vehicle crash on I-35 lower deck

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police officers are at the scene of an eight-vehicle crash involving 18 people in the southbound lanes of the lower deck of North Interstate 35.
Austin-Travis County EMS was called to the scene at 12:06 p.m. Sunday. Five are injured, including two with potentially serious injuries, and have been taken to the hospital.
The southbound lanes were closed while officers cleared the scene in the 3500 block of I-35, near Concordia Avenue, but have since reopened.
