Fireworks sales start for Christmas, New Year’s celebrations

AUSTIN (KXAN) — If you’re looking to pop your own fireworks for New Year’s Eve, you can start purchasing them Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Retailers expect a busy season since the area has seen rainfall and there currently aren’t any county restrictions on certain types of fireworks.
Fireworks sales run from Dec. 20 through Jan. 1. Just a reminder that it is illegal to possess fireworks within Austin city limits — as it is for many cities.
