Firefighters battling duplex fire in southwest Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin firefighters are working to put out a duplex fire in southwest Austin Monday morning.
The Austin Fire Department says the fire broke out around 4:45 a.m. in the 6000 block of Westcreek Drive. When firefighters arrived at the home, the duplex was engulfed in flames. Initial information indicates everyone got out of the 2-story duplex safely.
The fire is right behind Patton Elementary School so traffic to the school may be impacted later this morning.
