Feeding the 5000 campaign aims to stop food waste and hunger

AUSTIN (KXAN) — More than 700 pounds of chicken, donated vegetables and pasta went into cooking a free meal to feed 5,000 people in front of the State Capitol. It was for Feeding the 5000, a global campaign to raise awareness about food waste and hunger.
