Fayette Co. officials meet to finalize Hurricane Harvey preparations

LA GRANGE, Texas (KXAN) — Emergency preparedness officials, including county commissioners, fire department heads and police chiefs from around Fayette County, met Thursday afternoon to discuss final preparations as Hurricane Harvey took aim at Central Texas.
Some hotels in the county began to fill up Thursday evening with people fleeing the Gulf Coast; others, meanwhile, stocked up on the usual: canned food and water. Beth Starmack and her sister Becky Bray were among them.
