‘False’ emergency text messages sent to students statewide

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Text messages that have the appearance of being emergency alerts from universities were received by students statewide, Wednesday night.
The University of Texas and St. Edward’s University say the messages are not official alerts and students should disregard them.
