Elderly man dies after car crashes into metal pole in west Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man in his 70s died when his car struck a metal pole in west Austin Sunday afternoon, said Austin-Travis County EMS and the Austin Police Department.
It happened at about 2:38 p.m. on North Capital of Texas Highway near Pascal Lane. That’s in the Rob Roy area of far west Austin.
ATC EMS said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
The Austin police and fire departments investigated the scene.
