Early voting ends in Travis County with record turnout

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Early voting came to a close Friday night with more people casting their ballots this year compared to 2008 and 2012.
According to the Travis County Elections Office, more than 50 percent of registered voters or 372,188 people cast their ballots since early voting started October 24.
While it started out strong during the first week of early voting, the number of voters coming back to the polls after the weekend significantly dropped off.
