Driver killed in overnight crash in southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin-Travis County EMS says one man in his 20s is dead following a car crash in the 2000 block of Burton Drive in southeast Austin Thursday morning.
According to Austin Police, the driver was speeding south on Burton when he crashed into a electrical box just after 1:30 a.m. No one else was in the car. Burton Drive is shut down in both directions until 4:30 a.m. as police investigate the scene.
