Driver dies after hitting garbage truck in Central Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are investigating a crash that killed a man on Koenig Lane and Woodrow Avenue.
A garbage truck, owned by a private company, was picking up trash in the area just east of Burnet around 3:20 a.m. when the crash happened. Authorities say a man, estimated to be in his 20s, driving a sedan struck the garbage truck. The driver of the car died at the scene.
Koenig Lane has reopened at Grover Avenue to Woodrow Avenue.
