Dell Seton Medical Center opens, more than 100 patients being moved

AUSTIN (KXAN) — After roughly two years of preparation and planning, the Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas opened Sunday morning, and the historic University Medical Center Brackenridge hospital closed. Ambulances are transporting more than 100 patients from UMCB to Dell Seton — taking between six and 12 minutes to move each patient to the new hospital with the help of a personal transport team. Seton says that the transfers will be completed by the end of the day.
