Dawnna Dukes’ trial delayed until December

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The criminal case against Rep. Dawnna Dukes will be delayed until December, a judge ruled Tuesday.
Prosecutors were asking the judge for more time to prepare their prosecution of the Austin representative on 13 felony charges after a key witness offered contradictory statements to Dukes’ legal team. She was set to be tried Oct. 16, she will now face a Dec. 11 trial date.
