Crews battling heavy fire at northwest Austin apartment

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Fire Department and several other Williamson County departments are on the scene of a fire at an apartment complex at the 9800 block of Copper Creek Drive in northwest Austin. In a tweet, the department describes the situation as a second alarm fire and says building 9 at the apartment complex was heavily involved. The fire was since contained to building 9 according to AFD.
AFD tweeted that in December of 2012 there was a major fire at this same apartment complex.
