CPPD: Suspicious item 'deemed safe' after reported robbery; suspect in custody

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A suspect is in custody after a bank robbery in Cedar Park on Friday afternoon, according to the Cedar Park Police Department.Police received a call around 4 p.m. Friday for a robbery in progress at the Chase Bank on Cypress Creek Road.
Officers learned the suspect left a box with unknown contents at the bank. The bank and nearby Walgreens were evacuated, and Cedar Park Middle School and Cedar Park High School were placed on lockdown shortly after the robbery was reported.
