Community, city leaders honor fallen officer at public memorial

AUSTIN (KXAN) — More than 3,000 people are expected to show their respects for the fallen police Officer Amir Abdul-Khaliq on Thursday at the public memorial service.
He passed away on Sunday, three days after he was hit by a car while escorting a funeral procession. The service started at 11 a.m. at the Wilhelmina Delco Center on Pecan Brook Drive in Northeast Austin.
