Colorado River now expected to crest at 54.5 feet in La Grange

LA GRANGE, Texas (KXAN) — Fayette County officials are expanding the mandatory evacuation zone now that the Colorado River is expected to crest at 54.5 feet in La Grange — even higher than what was forecast early Sunday morning. According to the National Weather Service, data shows the river is expected to crest at 1 p.m. Monday. The forecast jumped several feet Monday morning. The record is 56.7 feet.
