City hosts “Better Block” event, highlights safety improvements on Burnet Road

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A block party held by the City of Austin today allowed the public to see safety improvements made in North Austin.
People were invited to the “Better Block” event at the 5300 block of Burnet Road Sunday to see safety and streetscape improvements made on the road.
During the event a new signalized crosswalk was unveiled at Lawmont Avenue, which will make it easier and safer for pedestrians to cross the street. Temporary trees and furniture were also put in place
