Christmas flurries removed from the forecast

Bad news for those of us hoping for a few snowflakes as Santa flies into town…
We are now seeing consistent signals of a dry — but still cold — Christmas Eve in Central Texas.
The reason for the change is that instead of a large upper-level disturbance approaching Texas from the west following the Arctic front, all reliable computer models are now pointing to a flat “zonal” flow with dry air through all levels of the atmosphere.
