Cameron Road, US 183 safety upgrade construction to start next week

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Frontage roads at Cameron Road and US 183, identified as one of the five most dangerous intersections in Austin, will be getting new safety features for pedestrians and drivers.
City contractors will begin rerouting traffic on Sunday and begin constructing the project on Monday, Oct. 17. They anticipate the estimated $268,000 project will be completed in mid-November. The good news: there will be no daytime closures to the main lanes of the US 183 frontage roads. There
