Boy has critical injuries after being hit by car in southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A boy was hit by a car in southeast Austin and rushed to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
The crash happened at 6:36 a.m. on the 800 block of East Slaughter Lane. The boy was taken to Dell Children’s Medical Center and was in surgery.
Austin police say the child and his family were crossing at the intersection when the car hit the boy. Officer Demitro Hobbs said there are no lights at the intersection.
