Bill that would expand medical examiner offices passes Senate

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Legislation that would lower the population threshold for requiring a county to adopt a medical examiner system for death investigations passed the Senate [[[TKDAY]]] moving the measure closer to becoming law.Counties with over 2.5 million people are currently required to create a medical examiner office, but Senate Bill 1370 would lower that limit to 1 million.
