Bastrop County Jail escapee surrenders to deputies

BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) — A manhunt for an escaped inmate in Bastrop County came to a close Friday evening when the man surrendered to police.
The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office says the inmate, a trustee, was doing routine yard work when he walked away from the jail, located at 200 Jackson St. in the town of Bastrop, at around 1:30 p.m. He was located by deputies at around 7:20 p.m. Authorities say he will now face additional charges.
