Austin smashes record high Tuesday; cold front coming in the morning

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Sunshine, a downsloping southwest wind and compressional heating ahead of an approaching cold front are leading to the hottest day of 2022 thus far and record high temperatures.
We are already setting record highs this afternoon. Camp Mabry's current record high for the calendar day is 94 degrees, set in 1936. Austin-Bergstrom has also broken their record high of 89 degrees, set in 1954.
Increased winds today will also elevate our fire concerns in the Hill Country.Red Flag
