Austin officer suspended for using stun gun on handcuffed man

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin police officer has been suspended from her position after the department determined she used excessive force.
Officer Vanessa Jimenez will be suspended from her duties from Sept. 10 through Sept. 29. A Disciplinary Review Hearing determined Jimenez used her taser on a man arrested for public intoxication when she had other ways to subdue him.
