Austin looking at incentive program to save trees from development

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- City council passed a resolution to incentivize developers to save more trees on residential properties.The resolution calls for an incentive program that will provide developers some type of rebate on the fees they would have to pay the city if the developer is able to protect one or more trees from being cut down on a residential property.
It is unclear what kind of rebate developers will receive in this program, and there is no date set for when the program will roll out. The
