Austin ISD to sell downtown headquarters for $36.5 million

AUSTIN (KXAN) — To help offset the $1 billion bond voters approved earlier this month for the Austin Independent School District, at their next meeting board members are set to sign off on four major land sales that will net the district $53 million.
The most lucrative deal will be the sale of the downtown AISD Headquarters located on West Sixth Street. The documents show the district is selling the Carruth Administration Center Property for $36.5 million to SDC Austin Development Services
