Austin Energy: Tripped circuit breakers caused outage for thousands

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Energy said crews have restored power in several north Austin neighborhoods after a massive power outage that started just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
At 4:11 a.m., an Austin Energy tweet said all power had been restored in the area from Payton Gin Road north up Highway 183 to Braker Lane and west to Kramer Lane.
Austin Energy had earlier estimated 22,305 customers were without power but revised the number once crews were able to assess the scene.
