APD will provide commission update on DNA lab

AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Monday the Austin Public Safety Commission will get an update concerning the growing problem at the now closed Austin Police Department’s DNA lab. Thousands of cases could be compromised due to the DNA lab’s issues; like their evidence freezer breaking, not properly trained staff, and out of date technology which led to its closure in June.
