APD DNA lab will not reopen, forensics chief removed

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department’s DNA Lab will not reopen following revelations that possibly thousands of samples are contaminated. The chief forensics officer hired only last month has been removed from his position after questions arose of his academic transcripts.
