APD: Bicyclist dies after southeast Austin crash, man charged with DWI

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was charged with driving while intoxicated after police said he crashed with a bicyclist in southeast Austin on Sept. 20. The bicyclist later died in the hospital, according to police.
The Austin Police Department on Tuesday identified the driver as Abel Martinez, 26. Jail records show he was booked into and released from the Travis County Jail the same day as the crash.KXAN has reached out to Martinez's attorney. We will update this article if a response is received.
