Apartment fire in Southeast Austin displaces 8 people, injures 1

AUSTIN (KXAN) – A total of eight people were displaced from their homes Sunday morning after a fire in Southeast Austin.
The fire happened at the Lafayette Landing apartments located on Burton Drive just before 4:30 a.m.
According to the Austin Fire Department, one apartment suffered heavy fire damage which extended over to another building.
A total of four units were damaged and those that displaced were assisted by the Red Cross. AFD says a man was also transported to University Medical
