911 service restored in Hays County after outage

HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A cut fiber line had the 911 system in Hays County shut down for several hours Tuesday afternoon.
Numerous cities within the county also had the same problem. During the outage, San Marcos police had 911 calls to their agency routed to Travis County as a backup.
A spokesperson for AT&T says the outage affected some wireless and wireline customers in Kyle and the surrounding areas. The problem was fixed by 7:30 p.m.
