18-wheeler fire shuts down I-35 in Georgetown for 12 hours

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — An 18-wheeler that caught on fire forced the closure of Interstate 35 southbound in Georgetown from Highway 195 to Williams Drive for 12 hours.
Around 2 a.m. Friday the driver heard a pop and pulled over to the shoulder, according to Georgetown Fire Department. He got out and looked underneath and saw the engine was on fire, and it quickly spread to the rest of the semi-truck.
