1 hurt after home catches fire in southwest Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Fire Department and Oak Hill Fire Department responded to a home that caught fire in the 8800 block of Thunderbird Road in southwest Austin Tuesday night at 10:30 p.m. This is located near State Highway 290 and Scenic Brook Drive.AFD said the caller reported seeing smoke and flames coming from inside their home. Whenever fire crews arrived on scene they extinguished most of the exterior fire and were able to safely evacuate other structures.
