Wrangell’s proposed repair shipyard could cost up to $726M

The Southeast island town of Wrangell is moving forward with plans to build a massive shipyard that could repair state ferries, U.S. Coast Guard ships, research vessels and military vessels.
Wrangell already has a busy marine service center that hauls out large commercial vessels locally and from nearby communities. The proposed shipyard would service much larger ships, up to 500 feet long
