Why dark matter matters in ‘Phantom of the Universe’

Dark matter is a large part of the universe, but scientists still don’t know much about it. One of the reasons for that is dark matter does not produce light.
According to a University of Alaska Anchorage astronomy professor, Erin Hicks, scientists discovered it through the gravitational pull it has on objects in space around it.
To shine a little more light on the subject of dark matter, the Planetarium at UAA will premiere “Phantom of the Universe: The Hunt for Dark Matter.”
