West Anchorage roadway closed due to ‘situation’ now open

International Airport Road is back open after Anchorage Police responded to what they called a “developing situation.”
A Nixle alert was sent out at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities did not elaborate on the situation but did say that International Airport Road was closed between Electron Drive and Eielson Street for about an hour and 20 minutes.
