Walker introduces new measure to curb Alaska’s opioid epidemic
Gov. Bill Walker and the Alaska Legislature have said that addressing the state’s opioid epidemic is a top priority this legislative session, after the budget. Last month, Walker declared the epidemic a disaster.
On Monday, he introduced prevention-based legislation aimed at limiting access to opioids and increasing education about the drugs among prescribers and patients.
