Utility provider to bring high-speed internet to 7 villages
High-speed internet is coming to seven Alaska villages next year.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports phone, wireless and cable provider CGI announced new towers are close to being finished as part of a project that currently serves 40,000 residents.
The company expects to offer high-speed internet in the Buckland, Selawik, Noorvik, St. Michael, Golovin, Elim and Koyuk villages by 2017.
