U.S. House of Representative candidates have first public debate

Candidates for Alaska’s lone U.S. House of Representatives seat squared off Monday in a forum moderated by the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce. It was the first time incumbent Rep. Don Young shared the public stage with his challengers, Democrat Steve Lindbeck and Libertarian Jim McDermott.
Some of the topics of included natural resource development, military spending and health care reform. There weren’t a lot of striking differences in their answers. All of the candidates said t
