UAA unveils Alaska’s first lactation pod for nursing mothers

Nursing mothers at the University of Alaska Anchorage now have a dedicated, private space to feed their babies or pump breast milk.
A new lactation pod is located on the first floor of the student union, and is the first of its kind in the entire state.
It features seating, shelves, electrical outlets and USB ports. The $15,000 pod was paid for by a grant from the Alaska Workplace Breastfeeding Support Project.
