Tourism expects record numbers, despite major cuts in marketing
First, the good news: Alaska should expect to see more visitors this year. That’s the projection from the head of Visit Anchorage.
“We’re expecting a very small percentage increase, probably flat to 3 percent up,” said Julie Saupe.
That’s not the only reason to feel good.
“Each visitor to Alaska will leave about $1000 behind in Alaska,” added Saupe.
