Stranded 2-week-old walrus calf finds new home in Seward
There’s a new addition at the Alaska Sealife Center in Seward: a 2-week-old Pacific Walrus calf.
It was found stranded near Nome Wednesday.
The Sealife Center says the 120-pound newborn was hauled onto a gold mining barge. The barge returned to Nome, but the crew noticed the walrus was still on board the next day.
