St. George without water after reservoir damage

The small Pribilof Island community of St. George is without water after ice damaged the village’s reservoir.
Mayor Pat Pletnikoff said he believes an ice buildup during the last cold snap crushed on of the pipes leading to the 280,000-gallon tank.
“When the water levels go down, the ice after it thaws a little bit comes crashing down on the inside of the tank,” Pletnikoff explained, noting there’s no insulation in the reservoir.
