Senate moves to delay considering Walker appointments

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) – The Alaska Senate has sought to delay a joint legislative session to consider confirmation of Gov. Bill Walker’s picks for boards, commissions and key state agency posts.
Senate Majority Leader Peter Micciche (mih-CHIK’-ee) says the delay will allow lawmakers to focus on completing work on key legislation.
Voters approved a 90-day session limit, a threshold that will be reached Sunday. The constitution allows for sessions of up to 121 days.
