Senate bill aims to save state millions annually by eliminating popular scholarship
A new bill in the Alaska Senate could save the state millions of dollars each year by phasing out the Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS). Senate Bill 103 proposes eliminating the scholarship and the Alaska Education Grant Program. It would begin a new “education innovation grant program” for K-12 schools. They would receive additional funding for teaching with “a combination of technologies, such as video, interactive software, games, social media, and print media.&
